Warner Carl

Born in Liverpool, he moved to Kent at the age of seven where he spent hours in his room drawing and creating his own imaginative worlds. He followed the education with a view to become an illustrator, yet quickly discovered that his ideas and creative eye was better suited to photography as a faster and more exciting art medium. Gaining a lot of success as a still life photographer, Carl created his own artistic style developing a body of work based on landscapes out of food. HIs famous foodscapes are being created on a large purpose built triangular table top, his own invention. The scenes are photographed in layers from foreground to background and from ground to sky. The process is very time consuming, especially since the food quickly wilts under the lights. Each element is then put together in post production to achieve the final image. Work of Carl Warner is well known all over the world due to advertising campaigns of a number of international brands in food industry that use his images.
