Butt Fareen
FAREEN BUTT was born in Toronto. She lives and works now in New York. Over the past 15 years, Fareen has been further developing and refining the ancient art technique, that have been employed for thousands of years in ancient Japan ( making part of Nihonga technique), India, Persia, etc. – GEMSTONE PAINTING TECHNIQUE. Fareen Butt is the only one in the contemporary art world to use crushed gemstones and minerals ( emeralds, rubys, apatite ) in her paintings. She also uses precious metals such as platinum, gold, silver, as well as more rare elements - purple gold or minerals found only in meteors.
